What are Jaguar's leather colour codes?

At Jaguar, the original colour of the upholstery is identified by a three-letter trim code. It is shown on the vehicle's metal identification plate, usually found on the edge of the driver's door or under the bonnet: it is the three-letter code just after the word TRIM. Knowing it is the best way to find the right shade before renovating a seat, a steering wheel or a dashboard.

The table below gathers 142 Jaguar trim codes, from the XJ Series III to the XK8, S-Type and X-Type. How to read a Jaguar trim code

The trim code identifies a colour, sometimes linked to a material or an interior item: the same colour name may have one code for the leather seats and another for the carpet or the dashboard. Two-colour codes (for example Warm Charcoal / Ivory) correspond to two-tone interiors, often the dashboard. A given colour usually keeps its code from one model to another: Ivory is NED, Warm Charcoal LEG, Heritage Tan ADY.

Is the trim code enough to choose the shade?

It gives the original colour, so it is the best starting point. Old leather may however have darkened or faded over time and in the sun: compare the suggested shade with a protected part of the upholstery (under a seat cushion, in a fold) before renovating everything.
