Renovating your nubuck sofa
Nubuck is a sanded "full-grain" leather, and it is very sensitive to stains and patina.
Cleaning stained nubuck is very difficult. That is why it is essential to care for it regularly and to protect it by applying a waterproofing spray. To stop the leather from becoming smooth, brush it regularly with a very stiff brush (brass brush).
For a change of colour, recolouring is done by spraying a dye, a fixer and the waterproofing spray. These operations are particularly easy to carry out and give a very good result if the nubuck has not been coloured. Otherwise, it is better to transform this velvety leather into smooth leather.
