Ré­siGrain SOFOLK is a two-component water-based resin specially formulated to recreate the grain after a repair. It must be used together with a grain impression previously made using the ReproGrain Grain Reproduction Paste by SOFOLK.

Ré­siGrain remains flexible and elastic, and is fully compatible with all Sofolk finishing products.

Kit contents

• 4 small pots of Résigrain (10 ml each): 2×A + 2×B
• 2 small spatulas
• 2 empty small containers

Properties

Instructions for use

• Preparation: Clean and degrease the area using Sofolk Leather Cleaner / Stain Remover. Surface must be dry and free of grease.
• Impression: Create the grain impression beforehand with SOFOLK ReproGrain and allow it to fully cure.
• Mixing: Pour the entire contents of Résigrain A and B into the empty container and mix thoroughly.
• Application: Wait about 2 minutes to obtain ideal viscosity. Spread a uniform layer matching the thickness of the grain to be reproduced. Prefer a slightly excessive application.
• Grain reproduction: Quickly centre and position the mould (grain side) onto the resin. Apply even pressure for optimal imprinting.
• Removal: Remove the mould carefully after at least 8 minutes at 20 °C. The resin must no longer stick to the mould.
• Finishing: Paint and protect using Sofolk paints and varnishes adapted to your material.

TIP: Grain reproduction requires a bit of practice to achieve an invisible repair. Work carefully and respect drying times.

Precautions for use

• Use within 3 minutes after mixing
• Do not apply on wet or greasy surfaces
• Ideal application temperature: 10–35 °C
• Do not dilute, do not heat with an open flame
• If applied in excess, sand with abrasive paper
