Repair a leather armchair damaged by alcohol

1 answers

Hello

I just realized that my leather chair was damaged by perfume that ran on it and it looks like it was burned.

I just put universal cream for the leather on it but I don't think it's enough. Do you have any advice?

Thank you in advance!

Audrey

Hello,

your leather is not burned, the alcohol simply depigmented it! Just like indelible stains on leather (or leatherette), only a recolouring of the material will solve this problem.

You will therefore be confronted with two possibilities:

  • The colour retouching on the area where the leather is damaged.
We can never repeat it enough, this solution is to be avoided because you will never obtain a homogeneous final result! This technique is only useful for very small alterations.

  • Total recolouringRecolour at
least all the seat and ideally the entire chair will give a perfect result.
