Change from colour to lighter shade

Hello,
I would like to dye a 2-seater sofa and its 3 armchairs which are of medium brown color (rather gold) in aniseed green (currently it is a plaid that gives this color to each element...).
Is it necessary to use a special preparation to obtain the new lighter colour, or more product layers?
If processing is feasible, please advise me on the nature and quantity of the products to be processed.
