Blue velvet sofa (70s)

Hello,

I inherited a salon in Togo (Ligne Roset) that belonged to my grandmother.

This lounge is composed as follows: a corner armchair, a 2-seater sofa and a 3-seater sofa. It dates from the 70s, it's made of blue velvet.
On the other hand, this living room is very damaged: On some parts of the sofa, there is no more velvet so the color is gone.... (may also be related to the use of an unsuitable cleaning product that has caused discoloration...??)

I would like to have your expert opinion.... Do you think it is possible to dye this living room? The living room is completely removable...

Thank you!!!

    Hello,

Retinting it is not a problem but you will not hide worn areas, it may even be worse, the recoloration will not be uniform. The only solution as everything is removable is to change the damaged seat squares.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, by tinting you will not hide the traces of wear, but you can redo the seat, as the envelope is dismantled, in a fabric coordinated with the velvet, there is a way to do something beautiful and original.

    Sincerely
