Application of silky varnish

5 answers

Hello,

I have a stupid question, but what do you use to apply the silky varnish with? I can't find an explanation anywhere and there's none on the bottle either.

Thank you in advance for the answer.

Hello,

The best way is to use the foam roller that was used to apply the Pigment Colourant, simply pass it through the water (wring it out well) or with a damp sponge.

Hello,

I try to apply the silky varnish to which I have added matting agent.

I use the supplied moistened foam. I apply the varnish but I still have traces that remain: traces of the foam. How to get a homogeneous result?

Thank you.

Hello,

I just finished my restoration. Result even beyond what I expected. Concerning the silky varnish, I used it pure, with a small pad of moistened foam and I have absolutely no trace. Once dry, the leather looks silky.

Hello and thank you for your feedback.

I hope I can get the same as you.

So you moisten the foam well. However, do you apply a lot of product at a time? Because one person told me to cross the layers for a better result and to put enough product to avoid these drains....

Sorry to answer so late, some obligations prevented me from doing so earlier.

I don't think there's any need to cross the layers. The main thing is not to saturate your sponge with product and thus avoid overthicknesses. You do it in 2 coats and the result is perfect, satin impact, neither matt nor shiny trpp. It's like everything else, you have to take your time and that's how you get the best results.
