Advice for damaged leather area 205 roland garros

2 answers

Hello,

I am currently restoring the upholstery of my 205 Roland Garros.

Unfortunately, in one place, the leather is damaged over a fairly large area (11x8cm). And, I don't really know how to apprehend this area, since the flower of the leather is no longer present. I have repair paste, but I am not sure that it can be applied to such large surfaces.

Do you have a solution to treat this area?

Thank you in advance for your answer,

Sincerely.

Hello,

It is not the grain of the leather apparently, but the original re-colouring agent that flakes. Sand and peel to make the leather as smooth as possible, then spread a thin layer of paste with your finger, apply a coat of recolouring agent after sanding the paste layer... Depending on the result, spread the paste or several coats of recolouring agent again.

Thank you very much for that enlightening answer!

So I'll try your solution, and once finished, I'll post pictures of the rendering, just in case
