Hello,
I understand your concern. Fortunately, it is perfectly possible to repair this type of damage on your leather sofa. Here are the steps to follow for an optimal result:
Cleaning: Start by cleaning the damaged area with a stain remover cleaner for leather to remove any dirt and grease.
Sanding: Use fine sandpaper to lightly sand the area around the burn in order to smooth the flaking edges.
Applying the repair paste: Apply a SOFOLK leather repair paste to the damaged area. This paste will fill the hollows and create a smooth surface. Leave it to dry according to the product instructions.
Fine sanding: Once the paste is dry, sand lightly again to obtain a perfectly smooth surface.
Colouring: Apply a SOFOLK leather paint in the same colour as your sofa (send us a sample of your leather). For an even result, we recommend recolouring the whole sofa, or at the very least the entire surface of the cushion or section concerned.
Protection : Finally, apply a SOFOLK protective varnish for leather to protect the new colour and give a uniform finish.
To help you choose the right products, I recommend ordering our Leather Sofa Repair and Recolouring Kit. This kit contains everything you need to carry out the repair and recolouring effectively.
