Frequently asked questions about using our silky varnish on a sofa or leather car seats

Which finish should I choose? Satin, Gloss or Matt?

The choice of finish is above all a matter of taste. However, experience tells us that 90% of finishes (sofas or car seats) are satin.

Should I apply the silky varnish for leather before or after the nourishing oil?

In the case of a renovation with recolouring, we advise you to apply the Nourishing Oil about 30 days after the last coat of Varnish.

For leather care, we recommend applying the nourishing oil before the silky varnish for leather.
 

Bubbles appear when applying the Varnish, what should I do?

All water-based products tend to form bubbles. They should be flattened and made to disappear before the varnish dries. If it is too late, you will need to sand lightly in the areas concerned and apply the varnish again.

Is the Silky Varnish dangerous?

It all depends on the packaging you decide to buy.
The silky varnish supplied in a can is water-based and does not require any hazard symbol. It is therefore not irritating and can come into contact with the skin. You should of course protect your eyes and not swallow it.

The varnish supplied as an aerosol is "solvent-based" and contains hazardous substances. The product should be applied in a ventilated area.
