Care and hydration of very old leather

· 1 replies · 2583 views
Hello,

I am contacting you because we are looking for a product to nourish very old leathers. They are old saddles, the oldest dating from the late 1800s.

Some of them, whose leather has been poorly maintained, are very fragile. The stitching threads are sometimes even already destroyed. We nourish the leathers with neatsfoot oil. But would your range of products be more suitable for this kind of old equipment?

Awaiting your reply, I send you my best regards.

    Hello,

For the care of old leathers that have become brittle, we recommend our LEATHER SOFTENER , which is partly made up of our famous NEATSFOOT OIL , as well as an additive specific to traditional tanning methods.

If needed, you can use our REPAIR PASTE to re-stick or reinforce certain areas.

We also have a clear glue for small surface repairs, CICACUIR , as well as solutions for many other situations.

    At your service,

    The Sofolk support team.
