Ensures lasting adhesion of Leather Paint and Clear Protective Varnish on sebum-stained leather

STOP SEBUM is an adhesion mediator specially formulated for sebum-impregnated leather.
It ensures proper bonding of the Leather Paint and the Protective Varnish on greasy or glossy areas of the leather (generally on the headrest, backrests or armrests of a sofa).

This product acts as a temporary isolation barrier between sebum-contaminated leather and Sofolk finishing products, ensuring complete drying and long-lasting adhesion.

When to use it?

STOP SEBUM should be used only when:

• the first layer of Leather Paint remains sticky after complete drying,
• despite a thorough surface preparation (cleaning, degreasing, light sanding).

This phenomenon mainly occurs on older leather or those heavily saturated with body oils.

Directions for use

STOP SEBUM should be applied in thin localized layers on the affected areas:

1. Apply a first layer of Leather Paint.
2. Once dry, apply a thin layer of STOP SEBUM.
3. Then apply a second layer of Leather Paint.
4. Repeat the process if necessary, intercalating a thin layer of STOP SEBUM between each coat.
5. If the leather remains slightly sticky after the final recoloring coat, proceed in the same way between coats of Clear Protective Varnish.

Important: Treat only the affected areas.
If the leather is very sticky over the entire surface, this product will not be sufficient on its own — in this case, contact our SOFOLK technical service for a personalized diagnosis.

Compatible with:

• Sofolk Leather Paint,
• Sofolk Clear Protective Varnish,
• all types of pigmented or semi-aniline leather.

Professional tips

• Never overload: a too thick application will reduce adhesion.
• Work in a well-ventilated environment and at room temperature (18–25 °C).
• Always test on a hidden area before application.
