White marks after applying the varnish

· 2 replies · 2989 views

Hello,

I dyed a leather jacket. I cleaned and degreased it before applying the dye, which I left to dry for more than 24 hours.

After applying the matt anti-UV varnish, white marks appeared in some places.
I have already restored several leather items with Sofolk products without ever encountering this type of problem.

What could be the causes and what do you advise me to do?

Thank you in advance for your advice

The matt varnish contains a powder that gives the varnish its matt finish.

It seems that in your case this powder has built up in this area. This is very probably due to slightly excessive spraying.

I recommend removing this varnish using water and acetone, in a 60/40 ratio.

Then start applying the varnish again, taking care not to overdo it. The coats must be very thin.

    Good luck.
