Hello,

I have bought, second-hand, a set of 6 Pierre Guariche barrel chairs, which are covered in leather. The leather is stretched and glued onto the wooden shape of the chair. It is not torn but it is scratched and probably needs cleaning and renovating.

Can you tell me what to do and which products to use?

Hello,

There is no need to clean your leather, as it will be covered by the pigment leather paint.
However, it will be necessary to degrease it beforehand with acetone.

To renovate your 6 chairs you will therefore need 2 tubes of RépaCuir (liquid leather repairer), to fill areas where leather is missing (cracks, scratches, etc.).

Once the repair has been carried out, you will need 500 ml of pigment leather paint. The colour can be chosen from our colour chart (to be ordered beforehand here), or from a sample of at least 1.2 cm² that you send to us.

Then apply the Satin Varnish to protect your recolouring as well as the grain of the leather. A 200 ml bottle should be enough.

Finally, the leather should be rehydrated 30 days after recolouring with our Nourishing Oil, especially for glued leathers, which can shrink if they are not nourished.
