Upgrade a peeling sofa

My couch I bought at Authentica 10 years ago is peeling. It started to crumble very quickly after 2-3 years. In some places the first layer has completely disappeared, revealing a very dirty matt surface. As the seat is still in excellent condition, and the colour of the leather is light, is it possible to renovate and stabilize it?
