The underside looks like weaving from the photo, so it's imitation leather, and it also flakes. So there's a good chance it's fake. Leatherette is a fabric covered with a plastic film. There remains the fire test, approach a flame above (make on a hidden part) the leatherette or imitation melts, not the leather.

With the products we will deliver to you you will have an optimal result but the application with the roller should be done in cross with an application time between coats of at least 5/6 hours ,with a minimum of 3 coats at the flakes places. In fact, you will apply a hairspray to block the degradation of the initial color. This solvent-based hairspray should be rolled well to avoid dissolving the previous coat. If you can apply it with a spray gun, it is easier. This product does not require a protective varnish but we guarantee its resistance to friction.
