Renovate a club armchair in patent leather crust

0 answers

Hello,

I have two club chairs in patent leather crust, probably with polyurethane varnish. After a move, the varnish reacted to the new condition, I suppose, of humidity in the room. The surface of the seat, back and arms (which is in contact with the skin) has become darker, granular and sticky. I tried to strip it with turpentine and thinner, but without success. I thought it would be sandblasting, but I was advised against it, the leather crust would not last long.

Could you guide me to a solution, I like them and would not want to throw them away.

Thank you very much, very much

Frederic
